Those Babes were part of Oxtrot, a Brainerd Lakes Area promotion a few years back. We found almost all of them and thoroughly enjoyed the process. Being from southern MN also(Rochester)we love visiting the north country. Just read your book "Hit By A Farm" and looking forward to reading more of your work.

Thanks for taking us along with you on your tour! I knew Minnesota had lots of lakes, but had no idea it was also filled with statues. Too funny about the little boy wanting to know how toothbrushes became electric. :-)

OMG, that was too funny! And you sound just like I imagined. :-) Love your books! "Sheepish" is our latest bedtime book, (hubby and I take turns reading to each other in bed). We laugh so hard at times we bounce the cats off the bed...

The vineyard is something old! We planted it in 1995. Ten years later we realized it required more work than we were getting paid for the grapes. Friends took it over for a few years, but now it's just on its own. Farms are always changing...

Great blog, it's always interesting to hear how farmers come to name portions of their property. The names make sense...once you know the back story.

Great story!

Reminds me of when we had the farm we were about to purchase surveyed, and found the other scenario - that a stretch of creek and wooded hill we thought would be ours were actually our neighbor's. The old man selling us the farm was furious. Accused the neighbor of stealing, can you imagine.

You've inspired me to do some naming on my farm, too.
